The EGO-EXPRESSIONISTS
The Ego-Expressionists explore one’s 'inner' Self, to create works of one’s personal expression, to satisfy their own sense of potential, discovery and visionary aspects as to how they 'see' the world and the effects of the world on them. This is a 'Self Discovery' unencumbered by outward criticism and without compromising the 'Integrity' of their work. The style description of R E Romero-Probsts art and poetic discourses are the perennial description of the style of the Ego-Expressionists.
The Rise of the Ego-Expressionists
The late 60's - early 70's post-modernism/contemporary art and literary movements need to be looked at and defined into 2 different and unique categories given the fact most considerably for the nature of what the 'counterculture' represented; non-traditional modes of authority, experimentation with psychoactive drugs, and differing interpretations of the American Dream. New cultural forms emerged, including, pop music, art and literature with the concurrent rise of hippie culture, which led to the evolution of a youth subculture that emphasized change and experimentation.
A number of freedoms were endorsed within a counterculture community including: "freedom to explore one’s potential, freedom to create one’s Self, freedom of personal expression, freedom of 'inner' enlightenment.
And that, given to 'light' that the counterculture was both, an outward and inward movement, the late 60's 'counterculture' produced 2 distinct types of artists, writers and poets.
The first, naturally would be those artists/writers/poets who brought their work, styles and philosophies into the 'public' view.
These artists/writers/poets and their work, styles and philosophies are well documented.
But, given the fact that the 'counterculture' movement was both, an outward change as well as an introspective and personalized quest, spiritually, mentally, emotionally, physically and an ego-based search for personal truth, creativity, ideals and spiritual enlightenment. A second, distinct type of artists/writers/poets and their work, styles and philosophies manifested as well, even though their work was rarely brought forth for 'public' scrutiny.
The Ego-Expressionists movement was part of the later groupings and their work and philosophy was just as viable as those movements of the 1st grouping whose work was eagerly brought forth for 'public' scrutiny. And as one studies the work of these Ego-Expressionists they will find that the work and philosophy of this group is in fact and integral part of the changes in contemporary art and literature.
The work of R E Romero-Probst, the founder of the Ego-Expressionists gives validity to the style and philosophy of this inter-personal expression of art and literature |

The
Literary Works of Ego-Expressionist Artist/Poet RE Romero-Probst |
These
books are of the tale of Alamar, the Mystic
Warrior-priest, and Randee, the Prophet-poet.
who's inception in Ancient and Present-day
Eden mark the turmoil and enlightenment of our lives. The diaries, written
in the style of poetic discourses offer us
an insight to the revelations tied to the
mysteries of both, our mystical and physical
world. |
|
Excerpts from the literary works, which are based
on emotional and contemplative reasoning
and dogmatic revelation: |
"I
will give you a small taste of all those lost
souls strung out on pleasure and gold. And of
all of those who tried to keep their character
and pride. And of all of those who were used
and abused, imprisoned and then let loose." - Romero-Probst |
|
"I spoke with death, and challenged its worst and its best. I bartered
my soul for a taste of eternity.
The
Beast fed with me. The Beast awoke and slept with
me.
I lived and died a truth and a lie.
I struggled with the worst and the best in me.
I toyed with the life and the death of me.
And of this I am made to speak."- Romero-Probst |
|
"Promises
by the hour. Little kings shout without power. Nowhere
to be found are the peasants buried in the ground,
not ever making a sound. Their priests praise the holiest
of places. They carve out the soul and laden it with
gold. You, in the end are all sent to the same place.
Never, I have seen, are any dreams ever turned into
the reality of its being. All I seem to hear are ever
so much the same words, all spoken out of broken little
hearts. So many have become lost by searching for what
doesnt exist. They are led into the pit with
their eyes fixed. "- Romero-Probst |
|
"Alamar
stepped into my dreams and told me of these things.
I went to my desk, the nighttime just beginning
to leave, the morning light not as yet arrived,
and I sat down and started to write. Inside of
these dreams I dream, Alamar delivered to me
24 books in which the key to life and death patiently
sits. The more he speaks to me the more I write,
and day by day, night by night I sit and write
out his, and my life. These books when read will
open up the universe to me, this is of what he
speaks to me."- Romero-Probst |

The
Abstract Poetic Diaries
7 books
make up the first part of the The Abstract
Poetic diaries. They were the 7 Dreams; created
by the prophet/poet Randee having been inspired by the will
of Alamar’s influence on Randee’s
living. The poetry and prose is both contemplative
and impassioned. Of this, Randee writes: 'With
the help of both, the Devil and the Grace,
along with hating and loving, laughing and
crying, living and dying, with an Angel and
a Demon Angel at our side I and Alamar lived
out our lives. And as we spoke, I wrote'.
These
books are a forewarning, a prophetic visionary
content as to the rise and fall of the House
of Man by way of revelations of living and
dreaming. These interpretations of living and
faith allow us a guide of sorts as to the vise
and virtuous ways of mortal and ethereal life.
These passages are to be a moral warning as
mortal man enters into the Knowledge of the
Rites of Passage. - Romero-Probst

The
Books of FE
"Conceived
out of the aspirations for power and control, these
books were created by the Ancients. The basis for
these books is the FE.
FE is the forces and energies, which abound Eden and connect it to
the ethereal universe. The intent of the Ancients were to create,
using the Tree of Knowledge, a pathway to the immortal plain, but,
soon discovered that with these books they also possessed great power
on the mortal plain.
'It shall be believed that by rule, the learning of these Books of
the FE, is, that the poor man shall become Enriched and the
Rich man shall become Empowered.
One must be cautioned, though, for a poor man may find himself drowning
in wealth, and a rich man may covet the wielding of great power.
For those who learn from this FE the path you
follow is yours to choose'." - Romero-Probst

"Living
is nothing without the Beast.
Life and Death are a lover to no one.
Life and Death makes love to its own Beast.
From your last breath comes a sigh.
You have been betrayed
by your own life.
Life and Death has trapped you on the
bed of your experiences.
Living is used to get you to do
what Death would have of you.
Death is also there for what Living may choose.
The Beast now has a need for you.'
'The Beast is ruled neither by the Emanation nor the Spectre.
Nor does neither the Devil nor the Grace rule the Beast.
The Beast is the carrier of God's damnation and healing.
The Beast is created as the judgment and is appeased or appalled by the actions of man." - Romero-Probst

6th Vision - The Prophesies
"In the repose of God, the actions of his daughters, manifested as Lovers in the temporary realities that do not insist on their permanence, thus, able to abandon such positions, in turn, after each has served its purpose; conspire to create and thus set free the Prophetic visions of The Fall of Eden's Immortal and Mortal Realms.
The Daughters, faced with the fall of their morality had revealed their “Lust”, they are born together, children of the antagonistic embrace.
These two daughters; Spectre and the Emanation, are part of the same destructive complex associated with this tragedy, as is in the appearance of the Devil and the Grace in Eden, and the actions of these two daughters, who are now manifested as ‘prophets of the apocalypse’ have incarnated themselves into the thoughts of Alamar as he experiences these visions of the fall of Eden.
Each daughter embraces Alamar and introduces into his mind these visions of the ‘Oblivion’, the ‘155’ Prophesies.
As these Prophesies materialize into Alamar, the daughters release Alamar from their embrace.' - Romero-Probst
Visions of our oblivion
1 of 155 - The banishment from hell
Before the dawn of the mind, came the dictates of time. There were only so many things to do in the course of the love of the truth. And in the charity of the sacraments of those set free from the destiny of corruption, hate and greed a place was made to keep them away from the fate of the fire and flame. - Romero-Probst
2 of 155 - The banishment from heaven
By the choice of the extreme nature of the grace, there was not to be a place among those spared from hate, for the wicked angelic face, which coveted in the realm of misery and harm and evils seductive charm. - Romero-Probst
3 of 155 - The angels of desperation
I hear you speak so softly as you tell me of the fears you each have of not finding your way in the vastness of this place. I see in your beautiful eyes that you are desperate to find out the reasons why. You turn from me as tears fill those beautiful eyes. You cannot speak as you are seen running away from your dreams. - Romero-Probst
4 of 155 - The angels of lost love
All those special things that you had to give away because you had found out they were not of what you came here for. They were those who you felt needed to be saved. They were the faces of those who shared special places with you. They shared tainted love with you. They shared your thinking of pleasure and of bliss as a kiss was made. They were torn apart as you were left behind and they were made to stay in some divine place. - Romero-Probst
5 of 155 - The angels of lust
The pleasures that you have craved are never spun from the grave. They are real things that melt into your dreams. And as your passions burn, the fire consumes all that may lay in your way. You are made to rage.
You are made to feel those things we have fallen into. Those places that we have sought to run to. You are real as you are created into the passions of what you are made of. - Romero-Probst
6 of 155 - The demons of the resurrection
As you bite into the realization of your creation, you are to find that along with you, the demons too, are created. They live and die, laugh and cry. Play games with their fate and win and lose along the way.
They are born again and again, into the places where our destines are woven. - Romero-Probst
7 of 155 - The demons of the star
Within the confines of our fears, we have made thinking a place where we are too afraid to redefine its ways. We travel only so far with the time we have allowed to our minds. In our frightened way we have placed barriers and names to the things we are not sure of. As the star is cast, we have given demons the task to guard what we have forsaken to be a rusted key. And now that we have been made aware of the lock, it is our fear of those very same demons who block our way by protecting the key which we gave. - Romero-Probst
8 of 155 - The stars is the death of the demon
The lies and the fears, the venom of hatred and the power to create with. The riches and fame, the understanding of the game. The living and the dead, the breath. The star controls all that is said, and the deeds that are met. The star cast to our head takes the power from the demons hand. - Romero-Probst
9 of 155 - The star is the life of your death
The living that we take day to day is the time allotted to us. What we are in that time is the conception from our minds. We are or we are not the entirety of our being. The mysteries opened up to us are to be seen from the clouds of our dreams or by the screams of pain from the trials of our mistakes. The sciences have amassed the needs of our thought task. That is to unfold the mysteries both young and old. The star holds the key to the truths that we are. With it we are allowed to peer into the life that we fear will leave us here. And blown away in the storm of a barren waste. The star awakes the nature of our fate. - Romero-Probst
10 of 155 - Fallen from grace
By the hand of man or by the nature of what creates. We are lost to reason which hand is the one that casts us from the beautiful lands. We have fallen from the tower of conviction that we have placed to high for anyone to live in. We are bound and shackled to the confines of our minds, and that which commands the feeling that we are in so much need of. Within the sin, which our living brings, we gaze up at that tower and await for a light for our faith to burn. - Romero-Probst
'The "root" of these Prophesies found by Alamar in its emotional aspect, and, the assent of the Prophesy and its relation to the vastness of eternity, would present Alamar's personal revelations to the crisis of the search of these Prophesies. And, we would have to consider his concept of the light of Prophesy, which was conceived by Emanation and Spectre of the divine power of God; a conception that would bring us in a full circle, back to this foundation of Prophesy as the elevation of the mortal soul."
